California Rock Crusher (CalCrush) is a turn-key portable service provider for aggregate mining, concrete, asphalt, block and recycling. They are headquartered in Ripon, CA. Their customer, Granite Construction, requested a portable crusher to process recycled concrete and asphalt at their Granite Bradshaw Plant in Sacramento.
Challenge
CalCrush was working within a district that had been given a limited capacity to operate. The cap was 900 hours per year and CalCrush needed 1,500 – 2,000 hours per year with their diesel track mounted equipment. They were looking for a solution that was ultra portable, competitively priced, extremely compliant and environmentally sensitive with no cap involved, to allow them to move in and operate at will.
Solution
The IROCK RDS-20E Portable Horizontal Shaft Impact (HSI) Crusher was a perfect fit for CalCrush. In an air district where the opportunity to use a diesel engine is limited, the all-electric unit is a readily available solution. Producers who work in these areas with air quality problems can operate the IROCK RDS-20E without the constraints. Also, this plant minimizes environmental impact and reduces pollutant emissions.
Results
The IROCK RDS-20E provides CalCrush the portability and ease of setup as well as providing an electric powersource that allows them to maneuver the vigorous permitting process of California.
“The reason we chose IROCK is because their service is top-notch. Secondly, that crusher is built like a Sherman tank. It will take all of the punishment that recycled concrete and asphalt will dish out on a daily basis. It’s priced right for our market. It’s very affordable for a contractor to own and operate”, said Charlie Evans, California Rock Crusher Corp.
